about
In this project students were prompted to write a thousand word narrative to design a composition from. This story could be fiction or a story from their life. They were given three additional conditions. One, they were only permitted a single sheet of tabloid paper. Two, the paper must be folded or cut in some way. And three, the final composition must be printed a RISO duplicator.
This was students' first experience with risography and also their first experience creating separations for spot color printing. RISO printing provides an excellent low-cost, low-stakes introduction to printing processes beyond standard laser and inkjet printers.
