The prompt for this motion graphics project was to create an opening credits sequence for a television show. Not wanting to be influenced by pre-existing visual treatments, I chose a show that did already have an opening credits sequence, Netflix’s 2018 miniseries: Maniac. The series already had a strong visual motif involving multicolored, parallel lines, so the challenge was finding a way to creatively translate that universal aesthetic into the opening credits format.
